With over 50 years of experience and a hard but successful history, TGS is one of the longest-standing vehicle converters in the UK.

The experience of our founding members forms the backbone of this privately-owned family organisation.

2021 saw TGS invest heavily in new premises, vehicle storage compounds, senior leadership and staff, in order to provide the service levels required and to maintain our position in the marketplace.

Our diverse workforce is made up of skilled technicians, electricians, fabricators and coach builders, all supported by dedicated management and administration teams.

Investment in IT, software and new processes plays a major part in our determination to become the vehicle converter of choice for UK fleet operators.

Our History

We pride ourselves on offering well-designed vehicles. The current TGS (UK) Ltd, with a staff of 65 employees and an increasing turnover, has its roots in the early involvement of its current Senior Director in the road haulage industry.

1970
 

Tim Smith was given the opportunity to obtain his own vehicle and begin transporting products.

1985
 

This venture becomes a thriving Road Haulage business delivering all over the UK and beyond.

1986
 

Tim begins constructing Bodies for his own vehicles.

1990
 

Haulage division is sold and the Truck Bodies Division becomes the core business

1990 - 1999
 

Product range expanded to provide a comprehensive provision of van and truck equipment.

2000 - 2016
 

Move to larger premises in Fishponds. Van Extras becomes TGS (UK) Ltd
